PROSSERS OF WEOBLEY
« on: Tuesday 23 May 06 12:23 BST (UK) »
I am looking for information about the family of Hannah Prosser who married Stephen Jones in Weobley early 1800s. They had a large family.

Clarrie.

Do you mean Hannah's parents/siblings, or her and Stephen's family? I've found Stephen and Hannah, + their children, in 1841 census if you need that?

Hi Catherine

I am looking for any information about them so a copy of the 1841 Census would be a great start.

Thanks

Clarrie.

Hi Catherine

Thanks for that info.  I know that there were about 15 in the family so some of them may not have been born at that time and others may have already married.  I do know that Eliza married a Joseph Prosser but I'm not sure of the dates off hand.

Clarrie.

Hi Catherine

Are you able to look for their son Stephen who married Ann Price in 1838 at Eign Brook Chapel, Hereford and Dore

I hadn't realised that he was married at the time of the 1841 Census.  Would you be able to check the 1851 Census also?

Thanks

Clarrie.

Their children as baptised in Weobley were:
Hannah b 31/12/1809
Thomas b 7/4/1811
Betty b 22/3/1812
Stephen b 20/12 1812
William Charles b 25/9/1814
Thomas b 30/7/1815
Eliza b 21/7/1816
William b 26/7/1818
James b 11/9/1819
James b 10/6/1821
Mary Ann b 12/8/1821
Selina b 28/7/1823
John b 22/6/1828
Emma Victoria b 5/12/1830

2 Thomases and 2 Jameses indicate the first ones died. No idea why 2 baptisms were so close in 1821 - Could be a mistranscription for 1820 or a late baptism for James 2
