1841 & 1851 South Shields CARRUTHERS

This is a bit of a dodgy request as I have no definite person to look for!

I'll explain.  I have been searching merchant seaman records for the period 1835-1844 ish for Carruthers from Annan Dumfriesshire.  Got 'em!  Very pleased.

I noticed on the same indexes a number of Carruthers mariners who were born in South Shields they had the same names as appear in my tree; Thomas, William, James plus others.

One of them Thomas actually crewed on the same boat as one of my Annan sailors.  I think the South Shields mariners may be an unknown branch of my tree?

Is the 1841 South Shields census transcribed or indexed?  If so can I get a look up to see how many Carruthers appear on the returns.

There are 4 separate entries in the 1851 name index - will post them if you're interested.
