1871 census lookup request - ABBOTT - COMPLETED

Please would someone be kind enough to look for Alice ABBOTT in Hampshire in 1871 census?

I have her birthdate as possibly between 1852 and 1854, although can find no birth on BMD.  She is variously listed as being born in Brockenhurst and Lymington, Hampshire.

Is she the Alice ABBOTT who marries Edward CASTLEMAN in 1879?

If so, then the 1881 census shows them with two children, an Alice age 8, and Ann E age 3m, this may suggest Alice was married previously

You may already have this, but is she the "Allice" Abbott, 10, b Brockenhurst who in 1861 is with her family (parents William and Eliza) in Boldre? RG9/664 f70 p11?

She did marry Edward Castleman in 1879 and when I saw them in 1881 I wondered whether there was a transcription error for the daughter aged 8?

The Boldre entries seem likely to me - was there an occupation for her father, William?

Hello again Jo,

William Abbott was a 65 yr old labourer born Boldre, per the 1871 census.

The age entry for young Alice Castleman in 1881 seems clearly (on the face of the census) to be 8, so it doesn't seem to be a transcription error. She could, of course, be a daughter of Edward from a previous marriage.
