1891, 1901 Census Look-up, Surrey, BLAKE Please
« on: Thursday 21 October 04 22:02 BST (UK) »
Hello,

I am looking for George Victor BLAKE and family in either 1891 or 1901 Census.
Born: 15th September 1874, St Saviour, Walworth, Surrey
Father - Victor Blake
Mother - Mary Ann Blake Formerly Cooper

I have a family of Blakes from the 1881 census and the George V. is aged 1 year..... he should be 7 years, I wonder if this is a transcription error.

They are:
Victor Blake, 40
Mary Ann Blake, 42
Charles V. Blake, 13
Sabina C. Blake, 10
Mary A. B. Blake, 3
Ernest R. Blake, 6
George V. Blake, 1
Dwelling: 20 Astley St
Censue place: Camberwell, Surrey
Family Hist Film: 1341163
PRO Ref: RG11
Piece/Folio: 0700/89
Page No: 39

George Married Beatrice Alice Slough 14th December 1907 at age 32..... Marriage Cert says he was a Bachelor, so not married in 1901.

Thank you in advance
Hilary

i'd say the transcriber in 1881 got Ernest and George's ages around the wrong way as George should be 6 as he hadn't yet had his birthday at the time of the 1881 census.

enjoy
