Has anyone come across this surname in Roscommon please? My ancestor Daniel Toulan ( various spellings) is shown in Applegarth, Dumfries, Scotland on the 1841 census with his birthplace shown as Ireland. In various websites Roscommon seems to crop up for this name. daniel was born c1776 and I believe his father was named james.
