Hi genie.fan

John Wilson is here on the 1891 census living with his daughter, Annie.
I'm not sure who the family you found in 1901 are?

1891 - Yorkshire, Cleveland div. Skelton, Lingdale (?) Lane.
15, High Street

John Wilson, Head, marr. age 58, Occ. Joiner, b. Billingham
Annie M. Smith, dau, marr. age 24, b. Yorks, Scarbro'

Regards,

Pels

Hi again,

Firstly I checked the 1881 to see the family as a whole.

It appears in 1901, Susannah Wilson, wife of John is living
with Miriam Peacock - her married daughter, but on the
returns form it states she is a widow.

Annie M. Smith is living with her husband in 1901 but no
sign of her father.

If you would like details of the actual forms I will be happy
to pass them on.

Best wishes,
Pels
.

Hi Pels

Thank you for the look ups.  It would appear then that John died in between the 1891 and 1901 census.  Will search through the death indexes.  Thank you for finding this out for me.  Much appreciated.

If you can pass the details on I would be most grateful.

Hi Pels

Thanks so much for these.  I have recently found out through the Borthwick Institute, that Susannah was in a lunatic asylum for ten years suffering from melancholia.  Was very sad to read all about it.

Thanks again for your help.
