I am related to a Bridget Martin born 1825 in Galway, who married Patrick Carey in Wisconsin after immigrating.   I've been having so much trouble tracking her Irish relatives down.   I hope this is her parents!

I was just in Galway two years ago and did not have time to look at records, will be back again.

Thanks,

Lea

It's a needle in the haystack basically.  I don't know.  She married Patrick Carey in Wisconsin in 1850.  I just found a possible mother - out of Doneskea Tipperary - so I assume her father's family were the ones in Galway.

Hello and welcome  :)

Do you have Patrick and Bridget in any records - census, marriage etc?
If so, is there any additional information?

Heywood

Yes I do - I've been working on Ancestry, and got info from my great aunt before she passed: Patrick Carey
1819–1905
BIRTH 16 FEB 1819 • Galway, Ireland
DEATH 22 APR 1905 • Freeborn, Freeborn, Minnesota, United States   and

Select a profile image for Bridget A. Martin.
Bridget A. Martin
1825–1889
BIRTH 1825 • Galway, Ireland
DEATH 1889 • Albert Lea, Freeborn, Minnesota, US

I have a bit of Patrick's info going back, and Bridget was until today a dead end.  I have several Irish relatives that immigrated during the famine that are dead ends once you get to Ireland.  This was just the first one I looked at.

Thank you.
Are you sure re her death in 1889?

This looks like Patrick and Bridget in 1895, Minnesota

Bridget’s year of birth in censuses seems to be earlier than 1825.

I might be looking at the wrong person though.

Hi Heywood,

This could be, I'll have to look at the family records I have to see if it's given me alternate dates.  This may be why I haven't been able to find her family.  I also assumed they all died in famine,  but I'll look later today.

Thanks so much for your research, we'll see what we can find.
