Hannah Guy from Startforth
« on: Tuesday 30 May 06 21:39 BST (UK) »
Can someone look on the 1841 census for Startforth, Yorks please.
I'm looking for Hannah Guy, she was born around 1829, her father was John Guy.
She married William Simpson on 9/3/1850.
I'm interested in all details about her, her siblings and her parents please.

Regards

Foz

Hello Pels,

Many thanks for the info you sent me on Hannah Guy.   I was really pleased to receive it as I've
been struggling with her for months.   I only wish I could decipher the name of the town !!  It could
be Quarrington ?

Regards,

Foz.      :-*    :-*

P.S.     I've just checked in my road atlas and there is a Quarrington in Lincolnshire, and also a
Quarrington Hill in Durham, I wonder if either of those could be the town ?

Hi Foz,

You are right - it is Quarrington Hill - only one mile from Kelloe, Durham.
I had looked on Genuki at the surrounding area of Kelloe, but didn't recognize it!
Startforth, although in North Yorkshire, is only about 1 mile from Barnard Castle which is in County Durham.

Best wishes,

Pels
