« on: Thursday 01 June 06 16:57 BST (UK) »
i am searching for an Isabel Graeme who married a Robert Smith (from household of Sir Charles Lowther).

Where would i start looking for her?

In the 1871 census she is shown as age 39 and born in Scotland

in the 1861 census she is shown as age 29 and born in aberdeenshire chaple of grenock (RG9/824/136/4)

Hi Sue,

I haven't heard of a Chaple of Grenock in Aberdeen (that's not to say there isn't one). There is a Chaple of Garioch. There is also an Isobell Graham born circa the date in Kincardine O Neil (from IGI). If I were you I'd try to track her down in the 1841 census (free BDM), or try posting everything in the Aberdeenshire board and ask there.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Best wishes,
