GRO-NI Marriage Records

Hello,

I'm about [this] close to forking out the pounds for a marriage certificate from the GRO in Northern Ireland.  Before I do however, I would like to know what kind of information can generally be found on such certificates.

The marriage in question occurred in Belfast in 1877.  What information might I expect to find on the certificate?

Hi Shane,

You will find the names of the Bride and Groom, sometimes it states their ages at the time of marriage, other times just states "FUll", as well their condition meaning, bachelor, widow and the like....the names of fathers of the bride and groom,  and their occupation, as well as the address the bride and groom resided at when they married, the witness's names and the name of the Minister /church etc....if you are ordering an entry...you get all the same information if you order a photocopy of the entry, rather than the actual cert...and it's much cheaper...
