Many thanks, Ellen, that's fantastic! Now I know his birthplace, I might be able to find John senior's baptism
Best wishes

Hi again Ellen,

I just checked the IGI - there's a patron submission giving a John Henderson born ca 1781, of Alloa, who married Catherine Hunter. This fits beautifully with the children's names. There's a John Henderson who fits in the index - could you check his details please?

Many thanks
Jan

Many thanks Ellen. The Hunter looks promising. :-) I'll check Margaret and Thomas - they might give me some leads.
