(Devon) 1891/1901 Census Lookup Requests Please For John Barter Jordan Rossiter

Hi,

I am looking for information please aboput the children of John Barter Jordan Rossiter and his wife Elizabeth "Eliza" Lampen who were married in the March Quarter of Totnes.

JBJ Rossiter was born in Plymouth circa 1841 and Eliza was born circa 1842 in Stoke Damerel.

Any information about them would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

I am having problems finding them. What year did they marry? and do you think they were living in Devon? Also by 1901 they would be about 50 years of age and may not have had  any children at home.

Thanks for your posts. I do apologise. In my haste to post before going to make the tea I forgot to put the year of marriage which is 1870.

Should also add that Elizabeth is Elizabeth ( or Eliza)  Ann Lampen.

JBJ had been married previously in the Plymouth area but he was a bit of a womaniser and it's believed that he married Eliza before divorcing his previous wife or pretty close to it!!

His previous wife was Dorcas Odgers nee Treloar. There's some information about her and JBJ at this thread:-

Your previous post tells you that John died in 1899 so he will not be on 1901. Have you checked when Eliza died?. If you are looking for their children it would be easier  to give their details on a separate post when you have sorted out when Eliza died.

Hi jaywit,

The only record I can use is FreeBMD and that doesn't show a death for Elizabeth but then the records are not complete.

I couldn't find a death record for her on that.
