Eastbourne Churches
« on: Tuesday 13 June 06 21:51 BST (UK) »
Hi everyone

Would SKS be able to recognise this church from the doors??  I'm trying to find out for a friend of mine.  She believed she knew which relatives were involved, but recently it's all been proved wrong.  The detail on the church doors might ring a bell with someone!!!  We're told that it's Eastbourne .... 1930's.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Nellie

Thanks for the link.  It does look a strong possibility doesn't it.  Now we just need to figure out how we can find out who the people are!!!!!  Any ideas?

Kind regards

Your title for the pictures gives the surname Taylor.  Either got to Lewes Record Office or get the film of that church register and search it at your local LDS centre.   It is also free to check all BMDs on ancestry.co.uk - choose the beta version.  A long search but it may be worth checking all the Taylor marriages registered in Eastbourne then write to the local office and ask them to see which took place in that church.

Hi Andrea

Yes, they were the names that were given to us, but it looks like it is not the people that they relate to.  So we could possibly even be looking at photos that aren't even Taylors!!!!!

Kind regards

Actually the little bridesmaids might still be alive so it might be worth sending the picture to the local paper - they like that sort of thing.
