Bath marriage look up please
« on: Wednesday 14 June 06 13:27 BST (UK) »
Appreciate a look up of the Bath marriages please.
Looking for the marriage of Thomas Pearce marrying Mary(surname unknown).
The information I have isn't much & has been obtained from certificates from Bath.
Thomas was born c1758 & his & Mary's first child was born 31/10/1784. So guessing the marriage would have been 1783-84.
I do know that the children of the marriage were christened in Bath.
one of those children, James married in the Parish Church in the Parish of St.Michael & he also had his child christened at "The Abbey".
From certificates held they seemed to stay in the general area.
If this information is insufficient, please don't waste your time as I know I don't have a district as such.
Really appreciate your help.

I had a look and could not find a marriage about that time for Thomas Pearce in Bath.  There is one in Midsummer Norton but he married Sarah.
Are you sure Thomas was his first name?
I did find at Walcott St. Mary a marriage between William Pearce of Bathwick and Mary Webb  OTP  on 8.11.1884  There are several Thomas Pearce's on the marriage index in the Walcott area and I did not look at all the earlier marriages.

I also found a marriage between Thomas Pearce and Mary Sarney on 29 Nov 1779 at St. George Bristol.

Who said family history was easy. The trouble is Thomas and Mary were about the most common names at the time.
                      best wishes

Anne
Thank you for taking the time re the Pearce marriage look up.
According to Jame's marriage certificate dated 15/1/1840 his father was Thomas & Thomas was a "Mason".
Jame's marriage took place St.Michael, Bath, but of course that is not to say Thomas also married there.
Once again, thank you for your help.
