Can anyone offer any information re Robert Jones c1830 Mold, Flintshire. He had a daughter called Sarah c1851.

The only one that I can find born Mold was born circa 1831:

Sarah, 10
Robert, 10

All born county

Robert Jones is a fairly common name as you no doubt know

Hi Gadget, have spoken to a relative and we don't think this is the one. Robert Jones c1830 and died c1897 we think he only had the one child and some how Llandudno crept into the conversation, however his daughter Sarah was born in Mold.
Dont know if you can do anything with this info.

Do you have any census references, so that I can have a thorough search based on that information. Anything would do - I'd like to have a look at the whole family picture. I've had a look on the 1861 but no Sarah seems to fit.

I feel that I'm working in the dark here. There are so many Robert Jones in North Wales - I've got three in my own tree - and Sarah is not that much better

Robert Jones c1830, daughter Sarah 29/10/1851 married David Davies in Mold, Flintshire. They had sons- David c1898 Hugh,John and Robert who was born in Wigan 1/3/1904 and Sally and Cecelia.I have no other refs. other than the family still have a farm in Flintshire which I am trying to locate.

I am a very determined person dsd. With all my Jones, Roberts and Hughes lines, I have to be. You wait until you get to the patronymics

I refuse to comment on my patience though.

I'll see what I can find from what you've given me - working backwards from Sarah.

Do you have the approx place in Flintshire where the farm was. There are quite a few sources on landholding. And was the farm in the Jones (ugh) name?

Dsd - have you got them on any of the censuses at all? You seem to imply that you are jumping from Sarah's marriage back to the 1841 with nothing in between.

It's usual to work backwards - Sarah on 1861, Sarah's birth, family on 1851, family on 1841 and a marriage of her parents in between somewhere.

If you have Sarah's birthdate - who was her mother - it helps wth the searching

And where was Robert living when he died - there are about 25 possibles on the 1891
