I'm only researching blood relatives, so since the wedding would be for William's in-laws, I'm not that bothered about the location of this photo, but can't say the same for Irene

Hi,
I am not sure if you're still looking for information on Billy Hughes. I am his Great Granddaughter. (My mother being the eldest daughter of Billy's son Douglas)
I am currently researching into his life too and have some information if you would like to get in contact.

Hi there - I'm always interested in the Hughes family. I've already spoken to Leonard (who has all the memorabilia) and William, but not spoken to anyone else in this particular branch of the family as yet.

I'll PM you my details - I've been tracing the Hughes family for some time  now, so if you're interested in learning about the horse racing and Somerset connections, let me know!

Hi,
I visited my Uncle Len a few years ago with my Mum. Sadly Uncle Bill has now passed away as has their sister Rita and my grandfather....Douglas (he lived in Gloucestershire where I live now)
What is your connection with the family...?

When did Bill pass away? I haven't seen him since I originally made contact about 3 years ago - it's terrible I know.

My gt grandfather was Hopkin - Billy's brother. Len told me about Douglas, and I knew Rita was ill, but I didn't know where she lived.

Bill did mention some "disagreements" in the family (I'm aware of plenty myself  ::)), so neither him nor Leonard were speaking.

I'm in work at the moment, but recall another brother living in the Bridgend area - forget his name though, and haven't managed to locate him either.

Have just met some more cousins living in Llantrisant only a few weeks ago - they were related to Billy's (and Hopkins') uncle

Hi Scooterman - are you living in the Sarn area by any chance? I'm in work picking this up (typically), but it does look likely that you are part of the family - I recognise the names and there are definitely links to Aberkenfig. I'm living fairly locally, so would be more than happy to meet up and bring all my kit with me.

I have managed to trace the Hughes family back to Hereford and (through the Jarvis line) Somerset (through the Jarvis line), and have got back to the 1790's so far.

I'll be on line later tonight (probably around 9pm or thereabouts).

I have LOADS of information for you, but you'll likely fill in a lot of my blanks as well
