Dear Bob, Hi.  All information is helpful.  (They could be related to my bunch).  Jenn aka TropicalJ reckons the Mum would have been preeeetty old by the time she had the kids and I worked out she would have been 66 years old to have last child you list...Marie G Townsend, so perhaps it's not the same lady.  I sure hope not.  Crikey! Dear Sue, I just had a look at that site you linked.  Was interesting indeed.  However, their daughter Margaret Hoy (my grandfather's grandmother), going by her birth certificate was born 22 May 1848 at Maitland NSW.  Weird.  Allycat, Qld Aust.

i have searched the index for sa vic and tas and cant come up with any sort of match
now anthoer question for you you have got the birth certifcate now did you track this down from the wedding certificate of margaret hoy to james patrick?
did this state margaret was born in maitland?
will keep looking but i have to say i am inclined to agree
with message 2 (learnt that from suesparret) from Cazay as a very good possiblity
there is a death for ANN HAY at condobolin
but bugger me MICHEAL has simply dissappered

Hi Allycat,

I'm a bit confused about the Catherine HOY married to Henry TOWNSEND.  I have this Catherine as being the daughter of James HOY and Emily ONION or UNION born at Walcha in 1866. 

This makes perfect sense as Walcha is only 40 km from Uralla. 

According to what's in my tree she had three children - Catherine Eva, William J and Albert Claud before her marriage to Henry TOWNSEND.  I don't have anything on her after this though.  I will see if I can get onto someone else who has researched that line more than I have.

This is all on the tree I sent to you.

Dear Debbie, Hi there.  Firstly apologies for not replying.  Usually on this site we get automatic emails if someone has replied to a posting, but I'm thinking my little boy must have pressed DELETE.  Anyway, found your message whilst going through this board.

A search of the NSW BDM website reveals only one marriage between a Henry Townsend and a Catherine Hoy in 167 years of registration......at Walcha.

Sorry for the mixup, but looks like there were at least two Catherine Hoy's, one related to your bunch and the other related to my bunch.

And the marriage index reveals no less than 8 Catherine Hoys getting married 1788-1955.
