BDM Lookups HOY/NEWMAN/HAYES family

Dear Rootschatters, Hi.  Just wanting to fill in a few blanks that I have starting with my ggg grandparents.  Online BDM Indexes for NSW already searched by me.

Michael HOY born C1820 unknown location ...probably Australia (hopefully )
   married Ann NEWMAN C1847 born C1820 unknown location

Q.Can anyone find their births or deaths in any States in Aust other than NSW?  And/or when/where they married?

They had two known children, (were there any more?)
1.Margaret HOY born 22 May 1848 Maitland NSW
   married James Patrick HAYES {my gg grandparents...have all details}

2.Catherine HOY born ....... 1849 unknown NSW.
   married 6548/1889 at Walcha NSW to Henry John TOWNSEND
   5 known children:
   a) Leonard CR TOWNSEND b1890 Uralla NSW 34566/1890
   b) Henry JW TOWNSEND b1892 Uralla NSW 35549/1892
   c) Norman CGC TOWNSEND b1895 Uralla NSW 17569/1895
   d) Ethel B TOWNSEND b1898 Uralla NSW 35203/1898
   e) Edith M TOWNSEND b1902 Uralla NSW 7636/1902

Q.Did this couple have any other children?

Q.Did the couple Michael and ANN HOY have any more children either in VIC or other states other than NSW?

with the marriage of catherine  to townsend  are you sure

about this one ie have you traced the family back to it

question arising from it you have catherines births about 1849 but the children are born 1890 to 1902 and peraps after that
she would ave been getting on to be having children thats all  41 for the first plus some not impossible but

it all helps in the equation

Dear Cazay, Hi.  Thanks for you reply, unfortunately wrong couple, I'm looking for marriage between Michael HOY and Anne NEWMAN approx. 1840s perhaps in NSW, but not necessarily so.

Shall probably look at some convict sites, have plenty in my favourites as I already have a few convicts in the tree (that I'm proud of...poor devils).

I don't know for a fact whether Catherine was sister to my Margaret HOY so Jenn you could be right about logistics of her being too old to be a mother.    Sorry, I should have checked my figures as well.

Margaret HOY and James Patrick HAYES were my gg grandparents.  Family research says Margaret's parents were Michael HOY and Anne NEWMAN.  Basically, that's all I know.  In looking at the NSW bdm Indexes I found a possible sibling of Catherine Hoy and then checked the marriages and found Townsend, then found those 5 children's names born in NSW.  But I could be researching the wrong family.  It can happen.

This does not make sense to your search, but the co-incidence is remarkable given that Michael Hoy seems to be a rare name on the records. So worth passing on I think.

Shows Michael and Ann Hoy entering Victoria in 1850 on the Eliza Caroline.  He is the right age too!!

A quick glance at the Vic bdm {I'm not equipped to do more} shows no children born in the state to them.  Someone else may look in detail maybe.

Dear Sue, I just had a look at that site you linked.  Was interesting indeed.  However, their daughter Margaret Hoy (my grandfather's grandmother), going by her birth certificate was born 22 May 1848 at Maitland NSW.  Weird.  Allycat, Qld Aust.
