Barkers in Witchford and Coveney
« on: Monday 09 February 04 20:29 GMT (UK) »
I have an Adam Barker in my family tree, he was born approx 1816 in Witchford and married Lucy Hitch in 1850.  I know of only one son, John born 1841 - can anyone help? :)

Hi!

Found a christening for a Emily Barker
Parents Adam and Lucy Barker
Date of Christening 20/04/1858
Place Haddenham, Cambridge

If you have any addresses, you could possibly put a request and check for them on the 1861 census.

Good Luck,

Catherine    :)

Thanks very much to both of you, these are definitely both mine, as for addresses I don't have any, I have very little information to go on, but these new details can be added to my tree and I can try and find out more.  Thanks very much

Found them in 1861
RG9/1037 Folio 69
Mount Pleasant, Haddenham
Adam Barker head marr 43 ag lab born Witchford
Lucy Barker wife  40 b Witcham
James Barker son 8 scholar b Witcham
Pheba Barker daughter 6 scholar b Haddenham

Unfortunately neither Haddenham nor Witcham for the appropriate period is on the NBI so I can't see if the other children mentioned by other posters were buried.

Regards

David
