I have some post cards sent to my granda from his aunty Maggie Henry posted from New Zealand around 1916 are there any Mckenzies or Henry's related to my grand still out there .He was James Mckenzie he had sisters Minnie Henry Mckenzie and Jessie Mackay Mckenzie they came back to England between 1888 and 1893 I think with their mother Isabella .I also have a photo of Jack Henry sent to my granda and on the back of it reads this is your cousin Jack you may not remember him
Any family left who came from Scotland and emigrated to New Zealand

Did these McKenzie's come from Loth Helmsdale Scotland
My family were in Dunedin( from  around 1878 to1888ish) but some could have moved to the North of the Island I am sending a photo of Jack Henry his mother was my Grandfathers cousin Maggie not sure about her at all
at one time she sent a card from Springton I believe that is part of Christchurch

I have found my Grt Grandmother Isabella McKenzie in the 1891 census at long last

She is living with here parents William and Elonor Watson at Pitsligo

With her are 3 of her family

No husband Adam McKenzie or baby Eleanor Isabella Munro Mckenzie born Dunedin 1887

My thoughts are that these two have died and Isabella came home to start a new life

How can I find their deaths

Hi :)

I dont think it is the same family, but i am going to print this off and take it home with me at Easter :)

to find their deaths you would need to search the BDM micrfiche or find someone that has access to it,  there is someone on here that does i believe, you could start a new topic.  If you dont have any luck, next time i am down there ( after easter ) i will do a search starting at 1891 and work my way backwards, might be quicker than working my way fowards LOL.  Do you live in NZ? you could try ringing The dunedin Cemetery and ask if they have any listings by that name, might be quicker. :) if not i can make the call for you.

another thought, is that she might be visiting....mind you if she was visiting it would say vistor on the census.
