1841 etc. Census Lookups pls. PARKER/BUCKINGHAM family from Norwich
« on: Friday 23 June 06 09:40 BST (UK) »
Dear Rootschatters, Hi there.  I'm pretty happy today, I just found out the names of two of my gggg grandparents and they came from Norwich and I'm interested in filling in some gaps that I have.  These details came to me from another researcher, but without supporting documentation or lists of sources.

I have Samuel PARKER born 11 Nov 1779 Norwich, Norfolk England.
Married 24 Feb 1799 at Norfolk to Mary BUCKINGHAM (born 1774 unknown).

I only know that they had one child at present, James PARKER born 31 Dec 1807 Norwich.

This son, James PARKER married C1840s to Ellen BROWN (born 1818 ...that's all I know) my ggg grandparents.  James & Ellen PARKER had 7 children that I know of and they were all born in the Colony of New South Wales, Australia.

1. Mary PARKER born 1844
2. James Joseph PARKER born 1846
3. William PARKER born 1849
4. Thomas PARKER born 1850
5. John PARKER my gg grandfather born 1852 Camden NSW Australia
6. Edward PARKER born 1854 NSW Australia
7. Esther PARKER born 1860 Yass NSW Australia

Thank you for reading this.  Q.Can anyone help me out please?

Regards,
Allycat, sunny Queensland, Australia.  ;D

Dear Ray, Hi.  I truly do thank you for doing those lookups for me.  Please appreciate it when I say I don't know how much is involved in doing lookups, so thanks for your time and effort.  And I never would have known what 'scavenger' meant until you told me.  I haven't even seen that mentioned in the old census occupations websites that I have been looking at.

Plus I hope you enjoyed your hol in Nth Qld.  I'm from Sth East Qld where the drought/water restrictions are!

And Cazay, wow ... combined you guys are going great guns for me.  Thank you both.  ;D Allycat.

NEW INFO
I'm in contact with another lady on the GenesReunited site who thinks she may have the same family as I have.  She has Samuel Parker and Ann Buckingham (sic) having 9 children:-

1 Sarah Ann PARKER b 1802 Norwich
2 Mary Ann PARKER b 1805 Norwich
3 James Samuel PARKER b 1808 Norwich ... now this is where she and I differ which is weird and I'm really hoping I can clear up.

She has James Samuel PARKER married to Mary Ann GRAY b 1807 Norwich, no marriage date.  And that they had 3 children; 1 Mary Ann PARKER b1829, 2 Caroline PARKER b1832 and 3 Susan PARKER b1846.  There are no further details on this family and I believe all data in this paragraph is either incorrect and/or James PARKER married again to my ancestor Ellen BROWN.

4 Ann PARKER b 1810 Norwich
5 Hannah PARKER b 1812 Norwich
6 Samuel PARKER b 1815 Norwich
7 Hannah PARKER b 1817 Norwich (I'm assuming 1st Hannah may have died)
8 Robert PARKER b 1819 ... ancestor of other lady on GenesReunited site...
9 John PARKER b 1821 Norwich

I have James PARKER born 31 Dec 1807 Norwich married Ellen BROWN and them having the 7 children I listed in my first posted message.

Hoping that you can follow my message and I have written it out clearly.  If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to buzz me back.  TT4N
