Hi

I have a birth certificate showing place of birth as "St Johns Instutute, St Johns Road Hackney" in 1909

Was this a hospital?
Any ideas

Hi Babs

Could it be insitution rather than institute ???  There was a workhouse in St John's Road, Upper Holloway :-\
