mmm the Flynn marriages would be difficult to find in Ireland given the early date...I can't see anything in my records but I'll keep a note incase it crops up.

Here are some more records Margaret for you.  I presume your McAleaveys are from the group near Rosstrevor - I noticed them as Trainors and Lindens - names in my family are together but I haven't linked to them yet!

Hugh McAleavey farmer father to Patrick aged 24 from Drumreagh Labourer marries Sarah Fearon from Newtown Maid aged 23 Her Father is Bernard a farmer:  27/10/1921 Rosstrevor RC Witnesses Michael Barry and Janie Fearon

John McAleavey Labourer father to Patrick from Drumreagh a Sailor who marries Ann Caulfield Kilbroney father James a Farmer:   24/11/1874 Witnesses Michael Trainor and Elizabeth McGivern Rosstrevor Rc

Hugh Farmer father to John McAleavey also a farmer Drumreagh who marries Bridget Caulfield from Cleomack, Seamstress Father Peter a Farmer:  Date not recorded Rathfriland Rc Drumgath Witness Patrick Maginnis and ? Caulfield

There is quite a bunch of the McAleaveys in Kilkeel actually - I have lots of references to the Kilkeel records in the GRO - unfortunately no actual details.

Hope these interest you - I will keep a look out for more.

Fiona, sorry for not getting back to you.  My computer was down and I had to get my son over to help me.  Put on the Norton Virus and everything went wrong.

I do have Patrick Jr., son of Patrick McCLORY and Bridget McALEAVEY (born in 1861 - but do not have the date).  He married ROSE GRANT and had 8 children -
1. Anne (b abt 1851 m James O'HARE)
2. Brigid (b abt 1890 m Daniel ROONEY)
3. Margaret/Maggie (b about 1890-never married)
4. James (b abt 1897- never married)
5. Mary(b abt 1899 and m Patrick FEARON)
6. Michael (b 27 Jan 1901 m Nora ROCKFORD from Co. Mayo)
7. Rose (b abt 1905 m Patrick QUINN)
8. Patrick (b abt 1907 and m Elizabeth GRANT

I got the "b abt" from the Census and who they married came from the QUINN family who resided in Rostrevor.

The 1901 Census D.E.D. Up Clonallan for Ballyvally was 108/3 LDS 830,512.  Patrick was already a Widower at this time.  Then in 1911 Patrick Sr. had passed and Patrick Jr. was on the farm at age 49 and had been married to Rose Ann for 26 years.
It is interesting that Bridget McAleavey McClory is buried in the McClorey family plot - that is my GF Felix McClorey & family - but Patrick Sr. is not mention on that tombstone.  Another question.

My mother was born McClory, but later it was changed to McClorey.

You did help me get the birth date of Patrick Jr. - another less date to find.  Thank you so much.
This is all interesting stuff.
Have a great day -
Margaret

Just had a minute to pop into the Records office and looked at the 1901 census briefly - in Drumreagh there is
Andrew McAleavey 60 wife mary 60 Farmers
John 60 and wife Anne 37 Farmers

Drumreagh Upper

Rsoe ann McAleavey 78 farmer widow Co down Head
Mary 35 Daughter in law 35 Born Scotland Married
Alice 14 Granddaughter born Liverpool
John 12 grandson Born Liverpool.....Is this the John who went to America?
John?  [Must've made a mistake] 8 Co down
Patrick 4 Co Down

I think they correlate well with your family [Is Hugh away working somewhere?]- so you might discover something in Liverpool records online.  I will check again when i ave another opportunity - at least you know they are there.  There are also lots of Trainors and Mcalindons. Oh and I definitely seen McCloreys everywhere!  I will take my notes with me the next time.

Fiona - Sorry for not getting back with you sooner.  Had problems with memory.
I am still trying to sort out all the lineage in this family.  With all the inter-marriage, it is sometimes difficult - (at least for me).
Thank you for your help.  Do you live in Belfast?
Have a great day -

Yes I do live in Northern Ireland about an hour away from Belfast but I don't have much free time to go to the record office - there is so much information there.

I go to PRONI and the LDS Office in Belfast sometimes.

Good morning Fionna -
I have a cousin (on my Dad's side) who lives in Mayobridge and cousins (on my Mom's side) who live in Drumsesk, Rostrevor.

I had thought I would be re-visiting this year, but my cousins do not like the research.  They seem to think I have all that is necessary.

Wished I had learned more from Mom & Dad - now I am on my own to try to piece together the puzzle.

Have a great day -

Fiona - Sorry it took so long to reply.
I was looking through the hits and found yours & saw that I did not reply.

PATRICK, Jr. you have listed b 1861 is the younger brother of my gf FELIX McClory (McClorey).   Felix & Patrick are definitely the children of Patrick McClory and Bridget McAleavey.

Thank you for the info.  I sincerely appreciate your help.  I have other sibling of Felix & Patrick as Anne and James.  Both Anne & James married brother & sister Art & Margaret Bennett.
Have a great day.

Finally got back.
I do have Patrick (b29 Jul 1861) to Patrick McClory & Bridget McAleavey (my g gp).
Patrick's siblings were Anne (m Art Bennett), James (m Margaret Bennett) and my gf Felix (11 Apr 1884-5 Sep 1938)  (m 29 Apr 1884 to Anne Cole)

The above brother/sister married brother/sister.
My gf Felix changed spelling to McClorey.

I thought I had answered this before, but I was mistaken.
Sorry about my delay.

My wife's family has a Trainer/Traynor in its tree. The only information we have is from the marriage in Scotland of Joseph Trainer born in Ireland and his parents names were Peter Trainer and Elizabeth Connolly.

He married in Hamilton in 1869
