I am seeking any information about the mining contractor James Allan of Bo'ness, who eventually rose to be a magistrate and Provost of the town.
He donated an impressive drinking fountain to the town to celebrate Queen Victoria's jubilee in 1887.
I would be grateful for any assistance with this.
