Missing marriage in England
« on: Saturday 01 July 06 21:10 BST (UK) »
Hello to all -
Can someone please help me find a marriage record for my english grandparents? They emigrated to the USA in 1892.  Both were Roman Catholics from England - possibly from Middlesex county.  My grandfather Francis Stephen Taverner was born the oldest child in 1860 in St. Marylebone to John Gernon Taverner and Frances Walter.  My grandmother Marion Mullins was born in the London area in 1866 to John Mullins and Agnes Sherrin (Sheran) (Sherran).  They lived on Staten Island (NYC) all of their lives and are buried there today.  I have not been able to find a marriage record for them in England or in NYC.  Thanks for you kind help in this matter.

If they married in the UK (if at all), then the record should be somewhere...

What resources/indexes  have you used so far?
Have you they on all census?
Can you give us the transcripts?

Pauline

HI,
On the 1900 US census...which you may have seen..
it says that Francis and Marion have been in the US for 8 years...and been married for 7 years... that means they must have married in the US. They have a son named Aloyisus?..born 1893 in New York.

Do you want the details?

Hi again,
Have you looked at the NY GenWeb page for Richmond?..that is where Francis and Marion were in 1900.
