Surname CARELESS any information valued

Catherine CARELESS married Francis COOK in 1818 Chipping Barnet.  It is an unusual surname and I haven't been able to find others with the same surname.

Anyone come across it?

There are alot of Careless surnames in the census, were you looking for anyone else from Catherine's family?

I slowly seem to be sorting out that CARELESS is not a Hertford surname.
I would like to know where she came from - but that's 1818.

I have not seen an 1841 census for either Chipping Barnet ot Hertford area.

Do you have access to that?

If there are CARELESS listed it may state where born and give me a guide for further searching.

The 1841 states only in/out of county.

I cannot see any CAR(E)LESS' on the 1841 census index for Hertfordshire.  There are quite a few in Middlesex, which is an adjacent county, but not in any parishes that abut Hertfordshire.

It would probably be worth contacting HALS for a copy of the marriage entry.  If Catherine was not of the parish of Chipping Barnet, it will list her last parish of settlement.  You would also have 2 marriage witnesses.
