« on: Wednesday 05 July 06 12:43 BST (UK) »
I'm trying to find details on the following people. Any help much appreciated.

Thomas MILLER, born in Aston Le Walls about 1775.
Frances HOLTON, born in Evenley about 1740.
Jeffrey LETT, born in Kings Sutton about 1740.
Edward GOLDBY, born about 1732 in Thorpe Mandeville.

Thanks a lot.

Hi Greg
I found a Babt for a Jeffrie Lett Sept 12 1744 father Richard mother Mary.
I thought he might be the brother of my Susannah Lett but her parents were Richard and Ann. She was born 1739.  Unless Ann died and he remarried to Mary as I could not find any more children to Richard and Mary. The last child born to Richard and Ann was 1742.
I could not find any marriages for either Mary or Ann so have come to a standstill there.
Forgot to say they were born Kings Sutton.
Hope this helps.

Regards
Sue

Hi Sue,
Thanks very much, this must be the Jeffrey I'm looking for. Interesting to see his father was named Richard. Jeffrey's son, Richard Bignell Lett was born 1774 in Souldern Oxfordshire. Jeffrey also had daughter Susanna born in 1787, as did Richard Bignell Lett. I wouldn't be surprised if your Susannah and Jeffrey were brother and sister. Maybe Richard was married twice or maybe Mary and Ann are one and the same? Mary Ann?
Cheers,
Greg

Hi Greg,
My Susannah was my 5 x great grandmother and it does look like they were brother and sister to me as well. Susannah children were.
Richard born 1767. Ann born 1769, Jeffrey born 1775 and Elizabeth born 1780.
A witness to Susannah marriage was a Thomas Bricknell (it could have been misspelt because it is close to Bignell just a thought).
If you are interested here are the other childred to Richard and Ann.
Ann born 1732, Richard born 1733, Anne born 1735 (maybe the first died), Elizabeth born 1736 and Thomas born 1742.

As I said I could not find a marriage for Richard and And or Mary in Northamptonshire so do not know where to look.  If you come across them please let me know as I will do the same.

Cheers
Sue

Hi Sue,
Where did Susannah marry. Jeffrey married Ann Bignell 1772 in Souldern.
I'll let you know whatever else I find out about our Lett family.

Hi Greg,
Susannah Lett married James Gardner in Kings Sutton on 3 Nov 1766.
I went back in the records of birth to 1700 in Kings Sutton and could not find any Lett families so I reckon they were born and married elswhere. Will send a pm with my email address in case we find something in the future.
