Who is She?

Well, about 5 years ago....Mr Indi and I were rummaging through antique shops in Temecula, California and we came across this photo of a lovely young lady. I paid $5 for her and brought her home. She hangs in my living room...in her original frame and with a string!

On the back of the frame there is a sticker that says....Boots, Picture Framing and Art Department....and a serial number 4185/1.
I contacted Boots...but they no longer have the records of the picture framing dept!

I know she is from England...must be.

How old do you think she is?....I would say about 17.

When was the picture taken?..I would say about 1925.

But most important ...Who is She?......I know she must be somebody's Mom...or Grandma...I don't mind taking care of her...but would love to give her back to her family.

Maybe Prue could give you some idea about the photographer as the name "Laurence, The portrait Specialists " is at the bottom. Could be the original photographer. Would be interesting to find out where they were based and might cut down the area you need to search to find her rellies

I regularly come across old photos at car boot sales - I think it is so sad that people are ending up on the junk pile.  They were someone's son or daughter yet they are thrown out.  I bought a lovely picture of a young couple getting married, circa 1920s.  She has a huge bouquet of lilies (bit unusual for a wedding).  I often wonder what her life was like, did she have children, what became of her.

It's a gorgeous photo 
I can't find many references to "Laurence - the Portrait Specialists" but what I can find refers to them being active in the late 1920s-1930s, in England.  Another slogan of theirs was "Studios Throughout the Kingdom".
Can't find where they were based, but I think you are right in assuming the photo is English, Indi

Hi All,
           I think they were based in Bristol,1852-1972.I found a listing of Annual trade directories.If they were in business til 1972 wouldnt it be nice to find some info on your photo and who she could be?
