Hi does anyone have access to the BMD for Cheshire. I have looked on the Cheshire BMD site but have had no luck.
My grandmother told me when we were young that we were related to Tony Waddington the Stoke City manager. He was born November 9th 1924 I beleive. His name is probably down as Anthony Waddington. I am looking for his mothers maiden name to see if it rings a bell. Can anybody help.?

The only birth registered for Anthony Waddington in the qrt ending Dec 1924 is in Chorlton(8c, 1085)

Mother's surname  is Harris

Thanks Tricia, Wow so quick :)I did find him on Ancestry.com and they said Cheshire for him and had a birthdate. But no maidenname for his mother. That name doesnt ring a bell either.

          This Stoke City history of managers page says he was born in Manchester 1924. So it looks as if Tricia find could be right.

Hi again, I just typed in Anthony Waddington birth year 1924 in the search area and it came up with that. I also double checked it on a Stoke city site and it said the same ,but in Manchester not Cheshire ? I know they are close but which one is right ???

When I did search function it brought up his death entry which was in Cheshire

I think the birth entry of Chorlton is correct

Thanks Tricia, I cant make the connection though. My grandma says he was a cousin. Maybe one of her aunties married into the Waddingtons or something  ??? She also used to mention a Mary Waddington, maybe his wife,none of the Stoke City Bios mention his wifes name though. More research needed I think. :)
