Dear Rootschatters, Hi, I'm looking to fill in some gaps for my family tree:-

Jonas AMOR born 1821 Wiltshire (somewhere ...sorry but it's an uncommon name)
-parents: William AMOR chr.31 Aug 1777 probably Bromham
                and Betty LESTER

N.B. William AMOR also married Hannah ARCHARD, but I don't know when.

Q.Did Jonas have any siblings?  Does this family show up on 1851 etc Census?

Looks Like IGI lists quite a few Children born in Bromham

Crikey Kris, there were lots of them.  And Samuel is a common name that keeps recurring through the generations.

I now have AMORs in my family tree being in Wiltshire for the past three hundred years prior to my grandmother's grandfather William AMOR emigrating from Bromham aboard the ship "Beejapore" in 1857 with his wife Ann Priscilla WHEELER from Arnecliffe, to settle in the State of Victoria, Australia, with descendants from their 11 children everywhere in Australia.  Their youngest child being my 94 year old granny's father.  Incredible stuff.

I wonder if there are AMORs in Wiltshire today?  ... Just a thought, I don't expect anyone to get out the phonebook or whatever you have over there.

Just found this site.........noticed the above message..............i am an AMOR still living in Wiltshire, very near to Bromham too. Wiltshire born and raised :)
