Is Birth Cert anywhere

Hi Is it possible to get a proper Birth Cert pre 1837 or is it just a copy from Baptismal register the date I am looking for  is in 1827 if proper BC possible where do I apply to Thank you  :)

Civil registration began in July 1837. Before that it is parish registers.
