Can anyone read this occupation from the 1851 census?

It's Brick maker.  Same occ as two of my ancestors

Definitely Brickmaker

Thanks very much, I thought it said 'Buckmaker' but wasn't sure if that was a real occupation or not!

Apart from the fact it actually reads BUCKmaker  thats a vaild occuaption - usually used as short form of - Buckram Maker;  Made buckram - used for stiffening lapels, collars, cloth belts etc. 

I've had one of these in the Bristol area - on both census and Marriage Cert

Thanks, I think it could be brickmaker as I had a look on 1841 census and there are definitly other brickmakers around, but there are also ribbon weavers so maybe he was a buck maker and part of the cloth trade!

This is the 1841 occupation, just as unreadable!

Think it's definitely Brick Maker as two separate words.  The capital M makes it look like a series of letters with it's flourishes either side.

the 1841 is more likely brickmaker - you can clearly see the br bit of it.
