1881 census
« on: Thursday 28 October 04 13:38 BST (UK) »
Can't find my g.grandfather George John Leech who was born in Islington in 1839 and lived in Sutton Surrey later in life.

He'd be about 12 years old.

Found one in Croydon but it isn't him.

Father was William
Mother was Mary

Thanks.

You are looking for George in the 1881 census ?
You said he was born in 1839 ?

and he would be about 12 years old in 1881  ??? ??? ??? ??? ???

Try this LEACH without two e's

14 William Street, Lambeth, Surrey
GEORGE LEACH    42    B, LONDON, MIDDX     BRICKLAYER
MARY ANN   "         40               "
ELIZA         "          15               "
MARY ANN   "          4            LAMBETH, SURREY

I looked for George Leech and found a few. One was a George Leech, living with his grandfather in London Poplar.
This George was 13. The other was a 13 year old George Leech with William and mary, but his middle initial was listed as a "W." They were in Oldham.

I also looked to see if I could find them by their other children or alone and it didn't look very promising. I'm sorry.

I found a George Leach in the 1891 Census who was 22, single and Head of Household. He was a civil servent Em'ee in London Poplar, Biggleswade. The 1881 Census also has this George with surname Leach, as I listed previously.

Hope it helps.
