 Hello all
 Well Ive taken the leap to Here,I dont know what its called now ,This is a first POSSIBLE link to this part of the country,I really dont have a clue about any of this. .Im looking for any info on ...
  Franz joseph mueller.. male christening..29th may 1851,katholisch,Bruchausen,rheinland.
 Parents....... Friedriech Mueller and M. Theresa Hesse.
   Any geographical or  . Advice would be great.
 Im currently looking thru Bobs links,but I dont know anything of States or such.
    Looking forward to learning something new

Hi Chrissy,
Preussen is (Bob, correct me if I'm wrong!) the German/Prussian way of saying Prussia.  Prussia was a kingdom in what is now Germany, and Rhineland was a province of Prussia.

On a modern map, there is a locality called Bruchhausen near the Rhine River, about halfway between Bonn and Koblenz.

Prue is right:  Preussen = Prussia

most of what we now know as Germany was part of Prussia at one time or another, and was about a half of Prussia, at it's peak.

Yes that is correct
Much of the former Prussia is now Poland
e.g.  Danzig = Gdansk
