Does anyone have access to the 1917-18 electoral register for Islington? I was wondering if you could see if Charles Arthur Cullen or Rose Jane Surridge/Seymour/Cullen were there?

Thanks very much. ;)

Do you still need this information?

It seems the register may be by ward of Parliamenatary division so you would need an address.

For in formation on Islington see http://www.islington.gov.uk/Leisure/LocalHistory/634.asp

Hope this helps

You can view the Electoral Roll books at the London Metropolitan Archives, these have to be ordered from the Archives after finding the the relevant details of what to order in the search room, but it essential to have the correct address. Usually there is a waiting time of about 30 mins for the books to be in the reading room, depending on how busy they are.

Be aware that only men will be shown until 1918/19, when women aged 30 will then be shown, women aged 21 did get get the franchise until 1928.

Thanks,

I've got the address on a birth certificate, so I'll try that.

Kris.
