My O'Leary Family from County Cork
« on: Thursday 20 July 06 03:28 BST (UK) »
My gr.gr. grandfather was David O'Leary who married Kate Hurley in Co. Cork.  In 1849 a son by the name of Joseph O'Leary was born to this couple.  David O'Leary was a laborer by occupation.  I do not know where the family was living at this particular time.

On May 11th 1867, my gr. grandfather Joseph O'Leary (25) - a bachelor from the townland of Knockraha married my gr. grandmother Ellen Barrett (21) - a spinster from the townland of Coolguerisk.  Both townlands are located very close to Cork City.  The couple was married in the rectory of a parish church in the registration district of Carrignavar by the Rev. John P. Clancy.   James Barrett  (also a laborer) and Ellen??? were the parents of Ellen Barrett.  The witnesses were John Kiely (Woodlands) and Marg Cronin (Glanmire).
