Hi Inchworm

The name 'Peleg' his highly unusual - only one instance in the 1841 Census.

If you Google 'Peleg Long' you'll get some interesting results including one 18th Century individual in Nantucket.

You'll also discover that someone else has been following the trail of your Peleg:

(The marriage isn't on Pallots by the way)

.... and a member of Ancestry states that Peleg was his wife's gg grandfather.
Do you want me to try to contact him for you?

Dave

.... and here's their family tree, although Peleg's not listed.

Correction - he's listed as William Peleg Long (1810-1873)

Hi,
Many thanks for finding him on the 1841.
Yes, that would be great if you could contact the person that says he was his wife's gg grandfather   ???
His son was William Peleg Long who was my Grt. Grandmothers first husband. The only other Pelegs that I have come accross have been in Wales.
Thanks very much for your help.

Hi again

Tried to send you a PM but don't think it worked.   ???

If you click on the 'tribalpages' link it will take you to Jim McCarthy's website.
His email is given on the other 'archiver rootsweb' link.

Cheers
Dave
