Mary Ann WATTS - Bushey
« on: Sunday 31 October 04 12:02 GMT (UK) »
Hi All, I'm new to this site and hope I'm doing things correctly.  Is there any chance that someone could do a look up for me please?  I'm looking for a MARY ANN WATTS born around 1836 in BUSHEY.  She had a daughter called Ginny before she married my great grandfather in 1865 (Aylesbury, Bucks) but I do not know when or where she was born.   Family rumour has it that she worked in the laundry of a big house in the Bushey area after the birth of her daughter.  It's also rumoured that she was a widow at the time but her later marriage gives no indication of this - being described as a spinster on the certificate with a father named JAMES WATTS and a witness GEORGE WATTS (Brother?)
If someone could see if she/they are on the 1851 or 1861 in the Bushey area it would be very much apprecated.
Thanks in anticipation - Jan

Jan

The 51 and 61 for Bushey are currently only available on film.  I have the cd's on order and will check for you when they arrive, though I might need reminding!

Hi Jan

This is quite an old request, so I don't know if you are still looking for information about this lady.

I found this on the 51.

HO107/1716 Folio 151b
Northchurch Common
Parish of Berkhamsted

(Working for George HORN - Farmer)
WATTS Mary, Servant, Unm, 17, House Servant, b Bushey, Herts.

I cannot see any other real candidates for Mary Ann on the 51 index I'm afraid.

Rick :)
