« on: Sunday 31 October 04 16:07 GMT (UK) »
Does anyone have the staffordshire 1861 census amd if so would they be willing to look up Trent Vale (which comes under Penkhull, Stoke on Trent).

I am looking for William Powner aged abt 40 born Tittensor and working as a brickmaker. Also his wife Elizabeth aged abt 40 and their children including their daughter Elizabeth aged 11 and born Trent Vale.

Heres Hoping
Sara
P.s. I think I have the family on the all the other census returns this is the only one I'm missing which is needed to just tie everything together

Dear Sara,

By chance and Google I have come across your query.  My Great Grandmother is Mary Ann Powner, the same age as the one referred to in your query.  I also live in North Staffordshire and all I know points to this being the correct person, she married John Thomas Moorley and my Grandfather was Thomas Powner Moorley.

I wonder if you are the expert on the Powners who could tell me more about the family and the connection with the plaque in Trentham Church remembering Thomas Powner and Mary Powner of Hanchurch Hills.

Please forgive this intrusion and thank you for any help you can give.

Regards John

Hello Powner Clan
William and Elizabeth had a son Harry born about 1863 he was my grandfather.
Harry married Elizabeth Jones in about 1883 and they had 12 children, 1 passed away at the age of 4.
My father was Victor and he was 1 of 4 children sent to Canada in 1909 after their mother passed away.
Hope to hear from you
Connie

Just another little note 1871 census is the only census that my grandfather Harry shows up on and he was 9 and his little sister Louisa was 7.  The great-grandparents had a total of 10 children and were in their 40's when these 2 were born.
I know more about Harry's son my dad.

I am still hoping that someone will connect with me in regards to William and Elizabeth Powner's 1871 census.
Harry Powner really was my grand-father and even though I live in Canada I would like to hear from you

I have recenlty got a marriage certificate for Harry Powner and Elizabeth Jones.
He signs himself as Henry and they both don't tell their real ages.
I guess she must of thought she was to young to get married.
