What is the Granddaughter's Name?
« on: Tuesday 08 August 06 07:51 BST (UK) »
Can anyone read the first name of the granddaughter.  Her surname is Dowell.

I have found a birth registration for an Adrinia Dowell in the Dec qtr 1897 in Portsea which fits with the age and place of birth in this census (1901).

Is this the same girl?

Thanks for your help.

The first part of the name is Adarin then it gets a bit messy but you can see two dots above for the i's so I'd say Adrinia is your girl and it's just a case of poor writing or spelling

it says Adarinnie I think - and I agree she is probably the same one - definitely an uncommon name and likely to be mispelt a lot.

Thanks for all your help.

I thought it was the same one, but thought I'd get a second opinion.
