There were a number of MONKS children baptised in MARTON around that time ... children of Thomas and Mary.

Marton is 10 miles NW of Lincoln (not far from Gainsborough where his son William was born), Martin is 10 miles SE of Lincoln.  The census enumerator in Sheffield probably wouldn't know the difference.
