This looks like John Moon (father of George) with his parents-the p.o.b. is given as Mapperley - Mapperley and West Hallam arevery often "mixed up"

Have been away so a delay in thanking you once again.
Being new to all of this I am willing to accept any information and help.
I have managed to trace my fathers sister who is about 86 and she has confirmed some of details you have helped with.

Glad you have found the information helpful.
Brilliant you have found an elderly relative who has family recollections-that's the best place to begin.

On 1841 census ages are usually rounded down by up to 5 years (childrens ages are usually (more or less) correct. The only information given about p.o.b. on 1841 is whether or not they were born in the county where the census was taken.
