Hi Coalmantrains
Have you got the marriage certificate for George and Mavis, at least that would give us somewhere to start. looking on Ancestry there is approx 697
George Thompson's from census 1861 to the 1901 census.

And in 1891
Brickyard stanley
John Thompson Head 45 General Lab
Emma wife 44
Walter son 22 Coal Miner
Joseph 19 Coal Miner
John A son 8 Scholar
Elizabeth J daughter 6 Twin
Sarah A daughter 6 Twin
all b. Stanley
RG 12/ 2726 144 22

re Julia Anna Moon -don't know if there is a connection but in late 1800's early 1900's there were a lot of Moons in mapperley Village Derbys (down the road from Stanley)

One "block" of houses is known (by the elderly village residents) as Moons Yard, because for many years there were members of the Moon family living in each house.

Moons not to be confused with Noons of Shipley!!!
