BOLTON family formerly of Richmond
« on: Thursday 10 August 06 17:54 BST (UK) »
Does anybody (or their parents) remember Dr William BOLTON, the veterinary surgeon in Richmond? I believe he retired in the late 1950s. The coach house became a B&B after the new owners bought the house.

I'm trying to trace his descendents to complete my tree.

Dr William Thomas BOLTON BVSc born 1871 Ebchester Co.Durham
Married Anne Gertrude CARR at Easington Co.Durham in 1912

At least three children.
1. William Thomas Oswald BOLTON b1912 Co.Durham. Died ?1984 Gloucester. Possibly married Margaret E STICKLEY.
2. Flora L BOLTON b1918 Co.Durham. "married a Polish man". No further info.
3. Andrew Mervin A. BOLTON b1922 Richmond YKS. Died ?1994 Burnley LAN. Not sure if he married or had children.

Are there any living relatives that would like to swap notes about the other 100+ people in the extended BOLTON family tree?

Hi
I am interested in the Bolton's that lived in Ebchester, Co Durham as I was brought up in Prospect House where Wiliam Thomas a GP lived with his wife Eleanor & 7 children ( one of his sons also William Thomas married and lived in Ebchester with his wife Ann Gertrude & son William Thomas Oswald.  His Father I think lived across the road at Ebchaester Hall which is now St Mary's Convent.

Some relatives of the family from South Africa visited us many years ago and left us some of the family tree information - I'm not sure if you know of them I have no contact details.

I understand that Willam's sister Mary Adams married a local artist Henry Hetherington Emmerson who apparently painted some pictures of Prospect House which I'm keen to trace.

Hello

I have been to Prospect House in the 80s, and was shown around by Neighan, and I was visiting from South Africa - so I suspect that was me, or my mother, or both.

I've found out quite a lot more about the Boltons since then, if you're interested.

So glad you have seen my message, although I did have a copy of your aunty's letter with addresses on.

Yes I think we have met - Nighean was my mother, she sadly passed away in December and looking through her village research notes I found your family tree information which has inspired me to try and research Prospect House & Ebchester Hall (across the road) to see if any paintings/pictures of these locations exist.

Very interested in any possible photographs or pictures you may know of?  I would really like to know what the people were like who lived in our house!

Is there an easier way we can communicate? r u on FB?
