1841 Jersey Census look up please
« on: Tuesday 15 August 06 00:18 BST (UK) »
I'm looking for details of the family of Thomas and Valeria Harley in the 1841 Census.
Thomas and Valeria and their son Thomas left Jamaica about 1830 and settled in Jersey where several more children.   Later they moved to the UK and are listed in the 1851 Census.

What I'm trying to do is research the Jamaican connection and hope there may be some information in the 1841 Jersey Census to assist me with this.

With thanks
Marian

Hi Marian -

I had a look at the 1841 census on-line at http://members.shaw.ca/jerseymaid  but only found one Thomas Harley, a stone cutter aged 45, born in England but living in Guernsey, and married to Harriet.

It does not sound much like your ancestor.
