Hi Willvila

From the free searches on Scotlands People, there are the following entries:

1. Birth - Ann McLaren Smith in 1888 in Pittenweem, Fife
2. Birth - x Fulton Smith (male) in 1887 in St Andrews, Fife (not Christopher)
3. Marriage -  Christopher Smith and Ann Main in 1908 in Anstruther, Fife

You are outside of the period to check for entries on Family Search (up to 1875). I haven't viewed the images on SP, you would need to do this to verify it's the people you are researching.

Hope this helps.

Regards.

Monica

Before you start using Scotlands People, have a look at the following guides here on RootsChat:

www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,43916.0.html

www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,24468.0.html

Scotlands People at www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk is the official Scottish BMD and census site. It's pay to view but the cost are reasonable. You buy 30 units for £6GB and each search cost 20pence and to view an image is £1GB - not bad!

There are limits to how much you can get on-line. If it is your couple, you won't be able to access any births of their children because on line searches on SP stop at 1905 (marriages 1930/deaths 1955/census 1901). But their parents' details will enable you to research further back. Hopefully then you can make good use of free databases such as Family Search at www.familysearch.org

Good luck. If you get stuck, give a BIG shout!

Regards.
