MONAGHAN Immigration lookup request please

Hi,
I wonder if anyone can help trace the Monaghans who emigrated to America around 1860/61

Thomas Mona(g)han.. b. Ireland... Abt. 1835
Catherine Mona(g)han... b. Ireland... Abt. 1836
Anna Monaghan (b)... England... 1856

I don't know their Port of Entry but they settled in St. Louis, Missouri.

Thomas could be also known as Edward!
Any help would be much appreciated!

Catherine's husband is not listed, so no doubt he arrived earlier. There's this Thomas from England:

Thomas Monaghan / Laborer / age: 24 / arrived: 30 Mar 1857 / origin: England / ship: Albion

But four years is a long time to fetch one's family, so maybe it's not him.

There is an Edward, however:

Edward Monaghan   / Laborer / age: 22 / arrived: 1 May 1861 / origin: Ireland / ship: Escort

But he came from Ireland - then again "origin" is a vague term.

Have you found Thomas on the 1860 US Census or Catherine and Ann on the 1861 UK Census? Since the 1861 census was taken on 07/08 April 1861, Catherine and Ann may be on it.

Hi Thanks for that!!!!!...Sorry for the delay in responding...have been busy!!

I haven't found Catherine and Anna on any census record for 1860/61....The first one I have is for 1870 in St. Louis living with Thomas and Ellen Colony..She has been mistranscribed as Cati Monchan and has her three Children with her...I have her on all other censuses but not 1860/61 so I think she must have been travelling...there is a strong possibility that this is her as there is a Thomas Monaghan living in St. Loius Missouri in 1860!

I also have a possible death date for Thomas in 1866at Arsenal island Cemetery!
