"Vanishing" Elliot family
« on: Thursday 24 August 06 22:32 BST (UK) »
 Hi there,

I am looking for any trace of one of my Elliot families, who I lose track of after 1893.  They were from Castleton, Roxburghshire, Scotland but think they may have moved to England - if anyone has seen any of them, I would be grateful for any pointers.

Details are as follows:
James Elliot (b. 22 March 1848 - parents William Elliot and Catherine/Christian Crozier) married Margaret Murray (b. ca 1854 - parents John Murray and Davina Lunn) on 6th Dec 1872 in Castleton, ROX.

They had the following children - all born in ROX:
Devina - 11/01/1873 to 10/05/1896
William - died as infant in 1874
John -  died as infant in 1874 (twin of William above)
William - b. ca 1875
Catherine -  b. ca 1877
Elizabeth Murray - b. 22 May 1878
John - b ca 1880
Mary Cowan - b. 22 Aug 1882
Margaret - b. 3 Jan 1885
Agnes Jane  - 17 Oct 1887
Margaret Nicol - 14 May 1893

After the birth of Margaret Nicol Elliot, I lose track of them.  I cannot find them on the 1891 census in Scotland.  Has anyone come across this family?

Cheers,
Clare
