m in northumberland
children elizabeth 1816 george 1817 ralph 1820 john 1822
possible john 1797 remarried a mary nee bewick bc 1796 scotswood
children william 1831 ann 1841 and john 1827
cant find marriages though and not sure if same john or if cousins with same christian name

Hi Gwen,i dont think this will help you much but i found this.
1841 census for Spittal St Andrews Northumberland
John Bainbridge head age 40 coalminer
Mary wife age 45
Ralph son age 20 coalminer
Samuel son age 15
John son age 10
Mary Daughter age 10
George son age 5
Mary Wilson this didnt give her relation to the family,she was 75.

1851 Census for Benwell Scotswood
John Bainbridge Labourer head age ? it had his birth place as something Durham
Mary wife 56 born Scotswood
John son age 24 born Scotswood
William son age 20 born Scotswood.  Brickmaker.


I checked the 1861 and 1871 census for both John and Mary but found nothing for Northumberland.I did find a Ralph Bainbridge married with his wife Mary and 3 children but i dont know if this could be your Johns son,although the age was right.
