Antony Askew BENTHAM & Family- Crediton

Hi all   

Hoping beyond hope that this family rings a bell out there!!

Antony Bentham married Annie French in Hastings, Sussex in 1892 - both were Teachers.

They moved to Crediton soon after marrying where they raised a large family of 9 or 10 children.  Supposedly Antony Bentham was Head Master of a school in that area.  Annie French was my G Grandfather's sister...he immigrated to Canada and supposedly lost touch with the family.

I am trying to find out about this family     What became of Antony and Annie, when did they die, where did the children go, marry, and die??   Dealing in the 20th century seems to be more difficult that in the earlier time frames!!

This certainly rang a very load bell with me.
Anthony Askew BENTHAM was my Grandfather and although he died in 1932- 12 years before I was born I am in touch with many of his other Grandchildren.
All of his 10 children are now dead, including my father Donald, who was the youngest and died in 1993.
Annie, Anthony's widow died around 1958 but I would have to check on the exact date. I usedto visit her quite often with my father when I was a boy and she also used to come and stay with us.

If you are still interested I can put  together quite a lot of info  but will not have time to do this for a month or so. Let me know

In the meantime here is a picture of Anthony and Annie taken  around 1928.
